PS3: NCAA Football 09 Online League

I'm willing to head up the PS3 NCAA Online league. In this year's version, you can have the league online and not ran offline. You may only have 12 user teams that way. I'd be interested to see who all would be in for it, then we could go from there what kind of options we want to have.

Definitely will be in...How soon after game release are you thinking starting it? Gotta get my PS3 closer to the router so I can wire it up when I start playing online.

Maybe a week or two after the game comes out? I think we should make one rule that no one can be ISU, as we would all want to be them.

I want to do a league, but I don't know if I want to waste my time with someone other than ISU.

I'm in but won't be able to start until around the 27th (RAGBRAI).

I think we also need to put us all in one conference so it guarantees that most of us play each other (hence the point of the league). If we want to avoid using ISU I would recommend either the Big East or the SEC.

We are going to have to decide how people get to choose their teams..12 users drawing names out of a hat I guess?

id be more than glad to join. I just got it reserved last thursday at gamestop and it is coming out on my bday....what a great bday gift to myself lol

We could do the same thing we do for Mafia and use a randomizer.

Put 12 names in, hit the button, and it lists out the 12 names in a different order. That could be our "draft".

I wouldn't mind handicapping it a bit though for the less skilled players (see Keepngoal in the other thread) and allow them to take the better teams.

How about we start two weeks after release? Randomly pick teams from the Big12 to each member. (we could easily have more than one league if more than 12 are interested) Play this seasons schedule, non-con and conference play, having winners of N and S, conference championship... and have credits payout (I will ask Jeremy).

A feature with the online leagues is that you can create your own conference. Say you have Iowa State, Iowa, UNLV, Florida, UConn, Cincinnati, etc. all playing, you can create your own super conference for the league. That is what I thought would be the best way.

The randomizer for drafting order is a great idea. I suppose if we did it that way, someone could be ISU, as it is luck of the draw on where your draft spot is.

No kidding? I had not read that. I definitely think that is a possibility. Above all, and I think we all agree, we need to be in the same conference.

Exactly. If someone wants to use the #1 pick on ISU that is fair.

Also, two weeks after release is a great idea. It gives those people who don't play NCAA a lot a chance to get acquainted with the game and it buys me time to get the game and play a bit after RAGBRAI.
