Re: NCAA Custom Stadium Sounds

Looks like we really need a good audio sample of the 1st Down's. All the other pieces could be fit in with everyone prefers.

Ok, I can't export my audio file to mp3 in the program you gave me. Its looking for a .dll program to do it which I have no idea where that would be. I'm going to do more searching, but what have you been doing?

EDIT: I found it online, but just a reminder to others, you will need the extra .dll program to export your edited mp3's.

Re: NCAA Custom Stadium Sounds

Here's the link to what you need. Just unzip it wherever you like and then point Audacity to the .dll file.

Here's a nice how-to on audacity, some of the features and such and how people have been trying to get more "stadium" sounding clips.

Yeah, nice tough on the reverb. That would be an added bonus.

Here's my first attempt. Sweet Caroline edited to get to the goo part quicker.

Careful guitar I think the neg rep might come out for you trying to perpetuate this

LOL. I posted it to show why we don't like it..., yet still sing with it when it comes on!

Re: NCAA Custom Stadium Sounds

I don't have a PS3 or this game (though I might actually buy it for my 360), but this custom sound thing looked like fun, so I thought I'd help how I can. I changed some stuff in the list below, in red. I'm assuming that you're trying to get the same playlists as what the marching band typically does in a game. There are a few instances where we choose between a few different things, especially based on how big of a play it was/needs to be, but I listed the ones that are played most often in that circumstance. It also balances out the playlist more, so you're not hearing the same three tracks a thousand times per game.

Field Goal Kick is Successful: "For I, For S"
PAT is Successful: "For I, For S"
2 Pt Conversion is Successful: "Iowa State Fights"
Touchdown: "Iowa State Fights"
Safety: "O Fortuna"
Defense on 3rd Down: "Mars" from The Planets
Defense on 4th Down: #4 (loud tuning chords)
Kickoff - (Fort Minor - "Remember The Name", Zombie Nation - kernkraft)
Timeout - Home "Go Cyclones, Go" (nothing IRL, but that's no fun)
Timeout - Visitor "Go Cyclones, Go"
Tackle for Loss/Sack - "Throwdown"
Defensive Stop on 3rd Down - "O Fortuna"
Defensive Stop on 4th Down - "Throwdown"
Turnover - "Iowa State Fights"
Defense take the field after a Kick Return - (Fort Minor - Remeber the name, Zombie Nation - kernkraft)
3rd Down Conversion is Successful: "That's another Cyclone... 1ST DOWN" (no link)
4th Down Conversion is Successful: "That's another Cyclone... 1ST DOWN" (no link)
1st Down Conversion on 1st or 2nd Down "That's another Cyclone... 1ST DOWN" (no link)
FG Miss by Opponent -
Challenged Play - "Go Cyclones, Go"
Start of 4th Quarter - Sweet Caroline
Penalty on Away Team - (We don't specifically play music for this; it's usually the band going "BEEP, BEEP, BEEP" like a truck backing up or "You can't do that!" chanting. If you don't want those, put whatever you want here- Mars would be a good choice, or a stand tune.)
Also, I have "Way Through The Head v.3", the most recent drumline CD. Below is a list of the cadences and cheers from the CD. Cadences are usually only while we're marching, not in the stands. We do play cheers in games, but usually just in between plays and not for particular reasons. I have no idea if you can add more events than this list.

Cowbell is played after the 3rd quarter is done. There is a recording on "Greatest Hits: Volume Two", but it's garbage. There are two good recordings. One on this drumline CD from 2007. It's really clear, but the band isn't there to do all the yelling, it's just us. It's also longer (~2min). The other one is on the drumline website (link below). It's from Band Extravaganza 2006, it's shorter, it's slightly muddier (from Stephens), but it has the full band. You can't download it form the site directly, but I can email our webmaster and get the file if you want it.

Do you have files of this stuff? I would love to get the chant that you guys do when you play 4 notes then yell GO CYCLONES then 4 more notes and say it again, then a little section of band playing then you yell I S U!

If you know of a place this is recorded, I'd even pay for this stuff. But if you have a file, that would be awesome. I tried emailing someone in the music department last week but heard nothing back.

It's great to be a cyclone/peacock!

Re: NCAA Custom Stadium Sounds

ornryactor, thanks for the help. Your input is definately welcomed.

I got Fort Minors- Remeber the name done. Tell me what you all think.

EDIT: I'm not a big fan of the Reverb on this one. Almost inclined to go without.

Most of me hopes that this will be the wrong thing to be played when the team comes out after this season starts

Well if I could get a working mp3 of Kernkraft by Zombie Nation, then I would use that instead. Everyone I've downloaded tells me invalid extension although it shows .mp3
