There is a bug in with editing rosters that causes serious problems.
It has been acknowledged by EA and they are already working on a patch (before the game has even been "officially" released).
There are, literally, hundreds of threads on a dozen message boards concerning this.

PS3 was having freezing problems while trying to edit rosters as well. A "fix" so far is to create the rosters offline I guess. There is a 360 roster file out there that is supposed to be complete right now.

Is it an issue with editing the default rosters the come with the game, or editing updated rosters that you download?

I've now read through a few of these posts in different threads on that board. It appears that it's a known issue for the vanilla game. People claim to have some clean rosters that have been edited, but thats all just speculation.
Many have commented about recommending to not even buy the game. Besides the roster issue, theres a depth chart issue, and other little bugs. Sounds like we need to wait for a better release.

Eh, I haven't heard anything game breaking so far. The rosters, atleast on the 360, seems to be getting fixed. I'll be getting this tomorrow no doubt.

There are rosters out there, as long as you don't edit them, will work just fine it seems. But you still have game glitches as well. More so than normal. Dynasty, offline and online issues.
Its not looking pretty.

This isn't a roster issue but still funny...
Apparently the numbers on Iowa's home jerseys are yellow instead of white in the game... hehehe
As for the rosters...last I knew there were no rosters available at all as of last night. The one X-Box roster out there (Pasta Padre...or other names) is actually corrupt and will cause multiple crashes if edited. So it was pulled down. Most likely any rosters being shared right now are a renamed version of that. For the PS3 no one has completed them but people over at MaddenMania ( MaddenMania - Powered by vBulletin) are going to start work on them today.
Guess I'll play nameless for a few days if I pick the game up today. Not a big deal I guess.

This might be a dumb question but I'm new to the 360. I do have xbox live purchased. If I want to download Iowa State's or the NCAA roster does it cost additional money? Or what is the easiest way to get player names?
