Linux Opinions on PS3

Has anyone installed Linux on the PS3? I am considering it, but am curious if anyone has in the past and/or has any opinion on it.

The main reason for my install, is to take make my PS3 a full emulator system for past consoles (N64, Dreamcast etc). They have these readily available for linux, and hopefully will work.

I'm concerned with how fast Linux will run, networking issues, and unreliability.

Is it worth it?

Why? I mean, I just don't get it, and I am a big nerd.

That's what she said.

And I, Bruno, will dive 1,000 feet into a block of cement. On my head, yet!

I read about it a little bit, but never actually tried it. It would be pretty sweet to run some emulators. I couldn't decide which distro to use, but if I had to pick right now, I suppose it would be ubuntu over yellow dog/whatever else.

Re: Linux Opinions on PS3

I have a bunch of emulators on my modded xbox that I run xbmc on, It'd be nice to have wireless controllers to use though. Still not enough to get me to buy a ps3, but it'd be cool.
