Just wondering people's opinion on playstation 3. I've always been loyal to playstation and still prefer the controler setup. I was just wondering if anybody on here has anything to say about it. I'm trying to kill two birds with one stone because I also want to get a hd dvd player. And I've been told that ps3 will play blue ray's.
Let me know what you think on this!!

I'm in love with my ps3. Games are awesome, as well as the blu ray dvd's. I just watched 21 last night in blu ray. It's the way to go.

I got a 360, sold it and got a PS3. Nuff said!!
In all honesty, I'm a heck of a lot more happy with my PS3. I have yet to figure out how to hook up my PS3 with HDMI to my TV and allow the sound to travel to my reciever. (If someone would like to help me with this that would be great).
Since the 60 GB is not made anymore, I would shoot for the 80 GB, especially since its bundled with MGS. An awesome game and a fairly backwards compatible console for your older games.

So I have that exact setup, I have HDMI to the tv, and a toslink cable to my receiver, works like a charm.

Since HDMI is both video and audio. Hmmm...., I might have to relook at it all. Do you have your optical coming out of your PS3 to your reciever or from your TV?
Anyone else noticed that NCAA 09 doesn't support digital sound. MGS works fine, but when I play football I have to have it setup on 2 ch. audio output only otherwise the sound doesn't get transmitted.

I absolutely LOVE my PS3. Being able to play games in HD, watch Blu-Ray, and surf the internet is awesome. The games are just as expensive as they are for the 360, etc, but like you, I love the Playstation controllers. My one recommendation is to get a DualShock3 after you buy the PS3 and then you have 2 controllers with the Dualshock and the one they send with it. I love my rumble during NCAA Football so DualShock3 was necessary.

Get a toslink cable and just go right from the ps3 to the receiver. HDMI will pass sound, but it will not pass it the way you need for your receiver. Plus if you get a toslink, it will allow you to do Dolby Digital during games, and the games that use it are awesome!
Cables are dirt cheap too: http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

My brother in law has had a 360 forever as well, and he recently got a PS3 but won't even try the online play as it is so much harder to connect with friends to get a game going. That's where xboxlive is so superior.
