1. Iowa State - Why not? Sure, we look like we shouldn't be in the top 100 but I wanted to see the list somewhere during my lifetime with ISU at the top!

6. South Carolina: big win over Furman who is probably better than most big 10 teams...
7. Oregon
8. Iowa - still better than Arizona
9. Arkansas
10. Florida ... better than they look

That's a good list. The big difference between ours is the fact that you seem to like non-BCS schools TCU and Utah a little more than me. We're off on South Carolina as well.

Interesting that CFN (unless its another head-fake misprint!) has ISU at 49 above KSU! How is that possible? Maybe everyone thinks that we are better than we have played thus far. Anyway, who really cares about the top 25 if ISU isn't in it?

I tend to give the better non-BCS schools the benefit of the doubt until they lose a game since I think the system is set up agains them and other than Hawaii they've shown they deserved their bids without fail (25-0, 2-0 BCS blowouts for two Utah teams)

BSU, TCU and Utah probably could all be a few spots lower than I have them for that reason. Nevada and Air Force I do think deserve to be 20-25 given the performance they've had so far. I liked your list for that. Shows someone pays attention to a wide range of games. There are a good 10-15 non-AQ teams that could hang with or crush a good share of BCS conference teams, I don't get why some college football fans have no interest in them or take some weird joy in writing them off.

I get where you are going, but I'd say the Big 12 South winner matters as much as Nebraska, they haven't looked that amazing yet. Washington is a huge question mark of a team at this point too.

I do agree with you that Boise State is likely out of the picture with VTech getting drilled. Oregon State is not that great and TCU played them and has a tougher conference schedule, so if TCU runs the table they jump Boise anyway. You're also right that ACC and Big East are pretty much out of it.
