Honestly, anymore I just follow ISU and am not much interested in watching too many other games.

This is why all I care about is conference performance. No matter how you do it, inter-conference comparisons will never be accurate.

The teams that start out ranked highly at the start of the season have a tough go as other teams have extra motivation for knocking them off. If a team can start the season highly ranked and bash teams during the season, you can't say that they snuck up on anyone.

It would be a joke to rank either TCU or Utah higher than Boise State. Boise State beat TCU last year and essentially has their same team back. In terms of proving stuff, Boise State has already defeated two BCS teams (Virginia Tech and Oregon State) which both have excellent chances of winning their respective conferences and becoming automatic qualifiers for a BCS bowl game.

What? Gasp! You mean that a lot of graduates and fanboyz of schools that have money rig the polls so that those schools can get more money from playing in bowl games at the expense of teams that actually deserve those games?

I suppose next you're going to tell me that for the NFL, college football is the equivalent of minor league teams in baseball, but free?

And that players,coaches, and universities stand to make millions from breaking the rules of college football, but they only get a slap on the wrist from the NCAA if they get caught? The horror!

Honestly, it is ridiculous that with the pounding that ISU took, Utah moved down instead of up in the polls. Ridiculous,along with the other aforementioned items, to the point that the SEC (that'd be the Securities and Exchange Commission, not the Southeastern Conference) ,or some other 3 letter agency, ought to take a look into some of those issues.

I've always thought the polls in general are a joke, but yes, especially the preseason polls. Also, the Coach's poll is an epic joke.
Its too bad that the polls affect the BCS rankings.

Polls came out today and Utah dropped down to #11 after they blew us out in our own house.

I'm not sure who's program is being disrespected more -- ISU or Utah's?

I don't know about you, but if find this total crap on more than one front.

On ESPN's BCS show, after talking about the Utah game, they joked that the show should go to the TV hall of fame because it was the first time Iowa State and the BCS were mentioned at the same time.

If you talk about the players on the team right now, yes, BSU brought back nearly all the starters from a winning team.

But Utah's 08 team was more dominant and had a bigger BCS win than any of Boise State's teams. That's just two years ago and we all know college football is about building stable and powerful programs. For some reason BSU has more of a Gonzaga media hype factor than Utah even though their best teams have been less impressive. BSU over Oklahoma was some trickery and creativity, Utah over Alabama was a knockout punch to the face.

I disagree. If I were them, I'd pay full attention to it, and use it as a motivator. I'm pretty sure that is what they did with Vegas' measly 6-point spread prior to their game with us.

You'll never get to full of yourself if no one gives you the respect you've earned. I think that has worked well for Boise State for awhile now.
