Apparently the Rotel sales must have been slumping lately.
But, as for Jon, I really wish him good luck. I would love to see him bump Perault off the afternoon spot, but I just don't see him and Miller working well together.

some of you guys need to back off, he did a good job on morning radio - took a chance and apparently didn't work out. This is a man's livelihood you are making fun of, how many of you would like it if you lost your job and then the message boards had a multiple page thread about how you stunk at it anyway just because you didn't like the same team they did? Jon is a good guy, a Hawk - but still someone that is like 99.9% of the rest of us and just trying to make a living to get by....
So, after reading HN's thread on this subject, it appears that the Pulse may not be done but rather they are looking for new talent. I would just like to say that the talent was not the issue. The Sportsnation rip off was the issue. The BigTen doesn't have enough going on to fill a show like this.
BTW, Jon. Have you suggested that you could host a Big10 film show like what Deace had suggested a while back? I believe it was something like having a season in review all in one weekend to get a full feel on how each season broke down.
Ol' Jon's gonna land on his feet... It's too bad that things didn't take off at btn for him.
But you have to remember that Jon's a sports commentator that makes a living criticizing coaches, athletes, Athletic Directors, etc. on a daily basis, so forgive us if we take a minute to criticize him.
How much love did Jon show coach Lick when he lost his job as Iowa's basketball coach? How much love did Jon show ISU and the big 12 day after day when things looked like they were falling apart and ISU stood to lose millions of dollars? I could go on and on.
If I cared at all, which is unlikely, I would be thrilled with the advertising. Media people need to stay in the news.
Just as I do not disdain Matt because he likes a 2nd rate school, it has nothing to do with Iowa...it has everything to do with Jon. Why is that hard to accept?
I like Jon other than the obvious character flaw (hawk fan).
This thread is a disgrace but perfectly exemplifies what is wrong with college athletics. The "fans" who blindly position their worth through the destructive behavior of belittling opponents. Sad and pitiful. Typically those with the strongest criticisms are those who have accomplished the least in REAL life.
I can agree with the argument when you make a living criticizing others that you are opening yourself to the same type of scrutiny - one difference being that Coaches and Most public figure make A WHOLE LOT MORE MONEY and generally have a Golden Parachute if they get fired. And he probably could care less what is said on a Cyclonefanatic board, I was just thinking about it in terms of how I would feel if I took a chance and it didn't work out...maybe an over-reaction - but I know someone who is friends with him and he just seems a lot more like some of us then a public figure that got paid for all that criticism...
I work hard to make money and I spend a lot of that money supporting ISU trying to help the program and school get better. Guys like Jon continue to beat down the team that I financially support. He openly roots for my efforts, and many other cyclone fan's efforts to fail. If you don't think having talk radio continually beat down a program does not have a negative effect, you are crazy. If you think Jon and Matt continually telling fans that a school will not succeed or that their AD is a snake oil salesman, or the program will never get better does not negatively affect a school you are blind. Jon was openly hoping ISU would drop to conference USA/MWC. He failed to report or discuss the Big East option. Even though he knew about it. Do you understand the ramifications falling to a lesser conference would have on all of ISU. Not just sports but the research and academic side? The enrollment? Do you understand how many lives that would affect? When someone openly roots for the University I love, where I met my wife, my best friends and my first daughter was born, to fail without any regards to what they are doing or how it affects peoples lives...I do not feel one bit sorry for their failures. Especially when they are as arrogant and conceited as Jon.
Besides, Jon will do just fine.
Why, is Sean Callahan at Nebby going to replace him?
