You sound like a moron. Miami has had 65 players drafted in since 1999. 27 first rounders. Someone asked why Gruden would take that job. I stated because there's a ton of talent within blocks of the U. You said none of them want to go to the U. I pointed out that you are clearly wrong. Just because the wins haven't been there recently due to bad coaching, has nothing to do with the amount of talent they have. They did win the NC in 2001, if you can remember back that far and they've had 65 players drafted since 1999. To say it's a worthless program is pretty dumb, IMO.
Miami could really be a sleeping giant, provided they get the right coach in there. I know it hasn't been that long since they were considered "elite", but I think they are in the same position as USC, OU, and UT before Carroll, Stoops and Brown showed up. Lots of history, talent-rich locations, etc. - just need someone to bring it all together and they could be consistent 10-game winners.
Pile on all you want.....if all that NFL talent wanted to play there and actually have an impact, Miami wouldn't have sucked this badly for the past several years (at least in terms of their expectations, I'd take the records they have had under him).
History means nothing at this point. You can list all the former NFL players from Miami that you want, from 30 years ago. Today is a different day, and the other programs in the state are different now as well.
You serious Clark? Today, I believe they are right up there with anyone in terms of NFL players. Your initial post was wrong. Talented players do want to play there and will go there.
