Absolutely hilarious the NCAA doesn't suspend an athlete for pay-to-play (even if it was done by his dad w/o him knowing) but will suspend Lucca Staiger for a year because he took NO money but played with guys who did. Or will suspend A.J. Green for 4 games because he sold his jersey for a few hundred bucks.

When will people start holding the NCAA accountable for this?

If you are the best employee in the country, they will sweep it under the rug.. no difference.

It not just this way in college football, its that way in all sports and in "life" in general.

Absolutely. And remember the Jiri Hubalek deal? Suspended for like 9 games for accepting, what, a pair of jeans and a car from his host family?! And even Royce White. Cant play but he never played a minute at Minny.
The NCAA is the biggest JOKE ever. If I ever come face to face with an NCAA official, I would literally laugh in their face.

No, the implication was that his Dad wasn't going to let him play for Miss St. because Auburn was offering too much money. If his Dad took money for him to play, then he should be ineligible. It doesn't matter if the name was Cecil or Cam on the envelope full of dead presidents.

Where is this implication that Auburn offered money? I have not seen that. Also, what's this tigerbait thing? I haven't heard about that either.

I think the most stunning part of this is that it took the NCAA 2 days to make a ruling. When has the NCAA EVER done anything in 2 days.

Lucca didn't know about it and he got a year suspension.

And that wasn't even about him, it was about a couple teammates on an otherwise average team taking a few hundred bucks.

There is so much inconsistency here it's not even funny.

I get the poster saying Cam is good and should play and he wants to see him play. Let's just be consistent. Auburn can't run an NFL franchise paying Heisman candidates while ISU gets pounded into oblivion for trying to get an average player eligible who has never taken a dime to play hoops.

Because obviously that is a similar situation. Besides that there is no proof the money was offered. There is proof that it was talked about and requested by Cecil Newton, but there is nothing that says that Miss St. was going to do it. I'm sorry, but I refuse to hop on the bandwagon of this thing without having some sort of eveidence that Auburn or Cam were in the wrong. Cecil Newton was in the wrong as far as we know. Just because our ex coach who some seem to have an infatuation with could be in some trouble doesn't mean we totally look over the severe lack of evidence in relation to Cam or Auburn. If it comes out and there is evidence that they were in the wrong, fine. Then I will have no problem running this kid through the mud, but right now I can't and won't do it. There has been a lot more harm done by running him through the mud in the case he is actually innocent than there will be good done by running him through the mud in the case he is guilty. Honestly, what if you are Cam Newton and you have never heard any of this stuff until this point? Is it really fair?
    This. Good Message.

The implication is that Auburn offered more money is derived from Cam saying, "I can't attend Miss St, the money is not good enough." Which insinuates that Auburn must have paid more.

Tigerbait is about how a member of the Auburn Board of Trustees, Bobby Lowder, who's bank took $2 billion in bailout money and then folded a few months later has a history of medaling with the School for political gain and personal profit. Read all about it here:
    As the Plains Burn......(Updated 12-1-2010) - SEC Football - TigerDroppings.com
Purely speculation, but if it were true, Auburn would lose their accreditation.
