    Re: Urban Meyer Stepping Down

I still think Patterson is waiting for Bill Snyder to step down again. He was supposed to take that job after Prince got fired, but the guy at Gopowercat.com and Kevin Keitzmann (guy that owns 810 radio in KC) announced the deal was done before he had a chance to tell TCU and his players. This really p*ssed him off. New AD there and Snyder only has a couple years in him.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

There first call will probably be to Dan Mullen. Florida's offense went downhill as soon as he left. Miss St. can't compete financially with Florida either.

    Re: Urban Meyer Stepping Down

Wow...I'm shocked if this ends up being true.

If he does resign and Florida starts to go down the tubes, it would serve at least a vocal minority of Florida fans right. I'm Facebook friends with some Gator graduates who I used to work with, and it was surprising to see the level of frustration and vitriol directed towards Meyer by friends of my friends in a "down" 7-5 season. I felt compelled to be a bit of smart ***** towards some of the dumber comments I saw.

This. Dan Mullen will be the new head coach at UF.

Malzahn and Leach will fight for this position - this is the best open position in college football. It's interesting to see whether Charlie Strong or Dan Mullen will want to interview for this job

I cannot see Leach coaching in the SEC. Leach needs to go to a school out west or somewhere where football isn't quite as important as it is to fans in the SEC. There were a lot of Texas Tech fans that were getting sick of his "personality" by the time he was fired. His off the wall quotes and love of pirates seem quirky and fun when you're winning but if he's struggling in the SEC fans down there will not find them so funny.

    Re: Urban Meyer Stepping Down

I'm a Denver fan. I would actually support Meyer to the Broncos. However, I think there is a 0% chance that happens. Fun to speculate, and joke about, but IMO very unlikely to happen.

I don't think Florida will settle for a fired weirdo(Leach), or simply an up and coming OC(Malzahn). I think Dan Mullen makes much more sense, as he has shown more than Charlie Strong at this point.
