Re: North Carolina Offers Marcus Paige.
Not as worried about this as I would have been in the past, short-term we may not get the players, but I am not so worried about it long-term. Roy used to be ISU's *****, and although we may not play him twice a year anymore, I think Freddie can turn the tide on the recruiting trail.

Locals who have seen games, please tell me if Paige deserves all the hoopla.

How many McDonalds All Americans does it take to make the NCAA Tourney?
More then 7 if your Roy Williams. Thus Roy Williams is way overrated as a coach. IMO

Re: North Carolina Offers Marcus Paige.
Be honest, if you were an Iowa kid and had offers from North Carolina, Kansas, etc. would you stay in the state of Iowa or go where you could win a national championship? Who was the last really good Iowa high school player that went to ISU or Iowa?

KU boards seem to believe that Paige is theirs to lose. Scout.com: UNC Offers Paige
The posters are not too happy about Roy sniffing around in their back yard again.

Re: North Carolina Offers Marcus Paige.
My guess and only my guess
1. Kansas
2. UNC
Much further down than the other two schools is Iowa State/Iowa/UNI.
From what we have all heard so far. Kansas was his dream school.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

The posters are not too happy about Roy sniffing around in their back yard again. I think KU fans would be completely fine with Roy recruiting against KU if he ever even tried to recruit against UNC, or recruit the East coast, while he was coach at Kansas. But in 15 years at Kansas, Roy never recruited anyone East of the Mississippi, saying there were "too many good schools the kid has to fly over to get to Kansas." Then Self came in and got two of his first three recruits from the East.
Getting Paige would be huge for ISU, but Kansas and UNC have to be the front-runners here.

Re: North Carolina Offers Marcus Paige.
I don't see how Freddie is going to be a big edge in recruting Page. This kid was in diapers when Fred was playing. Unless he's an ISU fan he probably won't be too aware of what kind of a player FH was. Anyone else is going to be more impressed with Roy or Coack K.
The only bigger turnoff than finding out a woman smokes, is finding out she's a Husker fan. -

Roy Williams can go eff off.
