I vmbplayer have accepted the head coaching job at Pitt. Not only will I coach the football team, but the marching band is also being placed under my direction. Pitt boosters at first rejected the idea but then I was able to win them over.

My salary will by $1.2 mill base plus incentives. $200K of which is for my football responsibilities and knowledge and the remaining $1 mill is for my marching band expertise.

Seriously, I like the mockery. But one of the reasons that it works so well here, is that what sounded like little rumors, that seem so outlandish and unfounded to start, ended up being true. It's happened with 2 coaches within 2 years here at Iowa State, i can see why we'd already be standing on the bridge, ready to jump.

If nothing else though, I really hope the powers that be, look at this though, is something that's very probable in the future. We are going to have to start ponying up to CPR, so that when a team actually does come in, with a substantial amount of money, we aren't too far away in matching that.

Believe it or not, my understanding is things were taken care of nearly exactly as you'd want them to be. Just no need to make a big deal about it. CPR had a contract change after last year as well, that was posted by a DSM Register writer in a blog last week. I would guess a similar thing might have happened recently.
