They should have worn entirely red uniforms and then tried to camouflage themselves into the field, by laying down like this:

And then at the very last second, jump up and make the tackle. The ball carrier would never even know where you came from!

Will never happen.. Not even if we wanted it too, the NCAA now has a rule prohibiting any other color than 'natural' ones being used on fields. So essentially the Eastern Washington and Boise State fields can only stay that color if they never re-do the field.

That is a myth. No such rule exist.

I've seen photos of the field, but never saw it during a game on TV.

It has a nice afterimage effect. Stare at the screen a few minutes, then look at a white wall, and you'll see a normal green field.

If you're going to go crazy on turf color, I prefer it to the Smurf Turf ... for a few years there, I'd stumbled onto a Boise State game and think the tint setting on my TV was out of whack.

Actually, I find EWU's uniform/helmet package is more annoying than the field.
