    UConn threw the game?

    Has anyone else wondered whether UConn's womens team threw the game last night against Stanford so that they could focus on winning another championship rather than have the pressure to win every game?

    That would be one of the dumbest things... If you've won that many straight including multiple national championships in a row, you are not worried about focusing on the next one as you've already done it on multiple occasions.

    They got outplayed last night, in a rough place to play with Stanford ready to go... Don't start making excuses for them now on how 'they lost on purpose'...

    No. You will win a Nat Champ by winning every game. If you lose the wrong game, you can not win a Nat Champ.

    Besides, it was a 6-point game with 1:30 left. A two possession game. Please tell me what coach is going to throw up their hands at that point, say "We can't win", and give up.

    Iowa State football team threw the game against Iowa so we could focus on the rest of the season. I think.
