This is common. Four years to graduate for some means sports masseuge or basket weaving BA.

Yardbarker has him down for five potential pro jobs. There a lot of pro openings right now.

    Re: RichRod done?

Looks like Harbaugh has ruled out Michigan and if he stays in college it will be Stanford.

Michigan heads are going to explode when Dave Brandon announces Rich Rod will return as head coach.

Rich Rod will remain at Michigan only if Brady Hoke or Jim Harbaugh decide they do not want the job. If Rich Rod does remain at Michigan, Greg Robinson certainly will not and he better replace GR with someone PROVEN in the college ranks, preferably someone who is a Michigan guy.

Not getting Jim Harbaugh will be a huge disappointment. But getting Brady Hoke could make up for that. He is a Michigan guy, and a proven program builder (or in Michigan's case: program restorer). He took Miami of Ohio from crap to MAC champion. He took San Diego St. from crap to a bowl winner of Navy.

I still have no clue where this Brady Hoke stuff is coming from. He has said it's his dream job but no one who matters has ever implied that Brady has or will be contacted. His resume is barely impressive to me. He took 5 years to have a winning record at Ball St. I honestly don't think that's the second option.

I think the second option is to go out and get Randy Shannon, Teryl Austin or Jeff Casteel. RR and Dave Brandon are metting today so there's a great chance we will know at least RR's future by the end of the day. I would think we would know if he get's fired for sure. I just don't think you blow up a program like DB has, to hire Brady Hoke. Besides that, Hoke would have come much earlier on instead of having the program sit in limbo for a month. I know they were probably waiting on Harbaugh and it was a chance worth taking but I think you are putting a decent coach in a really poor position by doing this. FWIW, if Harbaugh is unavailable, I think you go all out for a DC, give RR one more year and if it doesn't work you go get Urban Meyer. That's just me though.

There's no way in hell Urban Meyer ever coaches at Michigan.

i have as much of a shot of coaching at Michigan as Urban Meyer does.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

What DC worth his salt would come to Michigan to work for a HC who might have just one more year? That's not a reasonable scenario.
They are better off canning RichRod, and getting Hoke. He is a tremendous coach.

Well for one it's a big step down from the school he just left. Two, he's an Ohio guy and grew up an OSU fan, he's not going to take the Michigan job when there's a good chance the OSU job will open up pretty soon when Tressel retires.

RichRod done?............boys I really hope so, I don't think steve deace can take many more losses to eiu....

In my new er revised scenario...Rich Rod gets the boot of david brandon @ michigan and the Univ of Pittsburgh aka Pitt, hires mr Rich Rod and then Rich Rod becomes the most hated Alum of the West Virginia Mountaineers in the history of that beloved university....

In my old age I would absolutely love to see that come to pass....

For a milion bucks, someone would. Besides that, if you are successful the team will be successful and the head coach will not be fired. If you hire Brady Hoke, you have 3 more years of mediocrity and next year will be brutal.

You mean like Bo Schembechler? OSU player, OSU grad twice, and OSU assistant. Michigan right now is about the same as where FLorida was when he got there.

Yes just like Bo Schembechler. Except I forgot, which school did Bo win two national titles at before he came to Michigan? Going from Miami Oh to Michigan is a huge step up, no coach in their right mind would turn that down. Meyer has won at the highest level, twice. If and when he comes back he can have his pick of jobs, including the team he grew up rooting for. He's not going to be rushing out of semi-retirement to clean up the mess in Michigan.

And no, Florida was in much better shape when he got there. They were not terrible on either side of the ball, and Zook recruited much better than Rich Rod had. Those Florida teams had tons of young talent on both sides of the ball, Michigan not so much.

Bo was a tackle at Miami.

Apparently Stanford is set to offer Harbaugh a whopping contract worth over $5 mil a year. Some of their big money guys have stepped in.
