Doesn't help Iowa State at all that no rules bend for us and they bend like crazy for other teams.
and how did the NCAA prevent that team from reaching its fullest potential?

NCAA allowing cheating could easily have cost TCU a national championship this season.
Auburn barely wins the entire first half of their season playing as a one man team...one professional.
TCU has a good chance at playing in the title game if Auburn doesn't cheat. TCU played well enough against Wisconsin to show they could beat anyone. It's completely rational to think that NCAA double standards cost them a title.
Why would it not be possible that the next time ISU hoops is great we run into a team that is allowed to cheat? We are clearly not allowed to cheat even a tiny bit. Auburn and OSU are allowed professionals.

Auburn until proven otherwise.

Auburn and OSU are allowed professionals. it might be rational, but it's purely speculative. the fact of the matter is, this is the system that we have. It sucks, but it is what it is. And under this system, Auburn won. Lamenting about what could have/should have/might have happened does exactly nothing. TCU has no claim to the title. None. They didn't win it, and if down the line the NCAA decides that Newton shouldn't have been eligible, and strips Auburn of their title, (I hope this happens) TCU still won't win it. It's done. They are, and always will be number 2 this year as far as the polls are concerned. That's not going to change. It sucks, but it is what it is.
You can argue about fairness and double standards all you want, but that's the NCAA as we know it. They are not bound by law to enforce their rules evenly. It sucks, but it is what it is. "What a horrible night to have a curse."

It's speculative about TCU winning it. It's not really a leap that Auburn gets nowhere near the title game without Newton. It's also not a leap that they have little chance of beating Oregon without Newton.
Auburn likely would have been unranked most or all of the entire season without Newton's sick play pulling out games for them early in the season.
Where do you get the idea that I'm in denial about how things are? I know exactly how they are. I don't have to like it. I don't have think that things can and should never change. If I were an AP voter I would leave OSU and Auburn off my ballot completely. Our stupid system does allow for the media to vote what they think, unfortunately it seems this morning most of them decided to be company men. There is already enough evidence revealed that pay to play was at work for both teams, that's not speculation either. Investigations are still underway but just what has been found so far is enough to negate their bowl results at the very least.
Another thing that gets glossed over in the whole TCU debate is that computers (who only see results) think TCU's SOS isn't much different than about half of the Big Ten including Ohio State.

If the two played, I think Auburn would win.

If Alabama had gone up 31-0 this would all be gone.

Honestly, the "they cheated" thing is starting to get old.
No matter what, the auburn athletes outperformed the athletes from Nike U last night. Oregon looked outmatched quite a bit.

Cam Newton's father taking $ to have Cam play at a school does not change Cam's throwing mechanics, or how hard he runs, or decisions made at QB.
Cam outplayed the Oregon QB flat out.

Re: Cast your vote: Who do you think the AP should give their title to?
After watching both games I felt TCU played better and had the overall better team than Auburn or Oregon. Last night was not a well played game with numerous blown blocking assignments (Auburn d-tackles went untouched on several plays) and unimpressive performances by both qb's, throwing mostly short easy passes. Neither team was known for a strong defense during the year, yet both offenses basically struggled. I thought that TCU played better in their game, had better balance with their offense, and a better defense than Auburn or Oregon. Yes I know Auburn had a tougher schedule, but they barely escaped Kentucky and should have lost to Alabama. But once again we don't really know who is the best major college team in the country.

I saw a tie game with a couple minutes to play broken on a game winning field goal. Not to mention the play that got the tie breaking field goal into gimme range was rather controversial and could have gone either way.
The best player in the game being a professional certainly had an impact on the outcome of the game.
Michigan State looked outmatched against Alabama if you want to point to a bowl game that was lopsided. These two teams could probably split a ten game series, unless quarterbacks we know to be professionals are not allowed, in which case Oregon would clearly win a majority.

Look HFCS we get it, you are upset that Auburn took GC away and is good now. Did they have a player with a questionable past? Yes. Could they have won the game without him? Maybe, probably not.
But could Florida have won without Tim Tebow in 2008? How about Texas without Vince Young?
Personally, I don't think that TCU will go undefeated in the Big East. I also think that one thing that skews the Non-AQ bowl record and the argument of "well TCU beat Wisconsin so that means they are really, really, really good". Most games should be close if you give the teams 15 practices to get ready. Do you honestly think that TCU could've beaten Wisconsin on a normal week at the beginning of November after playing another Big 10 school the Saturday before?

Re: Cast your vote: Who do you think the AP should give their title to?
I actually thought TCU was more dominant than the final score indicated, so yes I think TCU could beat Wisconsin at any time during the year. They beat them the only time they had the opportunity.
