It would have been a toss up between TCU and Auburn. If Auburn didn't start a pro QB. Blows my mind they only got 3 AP votes. It's not as if TCU was just squeaking by all season like Auburn was pulling lucky wins out of their *** early in the year either.

Like you said earlier I think, I'm just hoping their are enough writers out there to make the case.

I mean come on, Auburn went undefeated in the SEC (last 5 BCS titles) and beat an undefeated Oregon team. I like TCU and the non-AQ teams as much as anyone, but you can't look at Auburn and TCU's resumes objectively and not pick Auburn. I, for one, would like a playoff to settle it on the field, but in the absence of that, Auburn is the clearly choice.

I will never be convinced that Cam Newton did not know that his father solicited $180,000 from Mississippi State. Cam Newton's story makes me sick.

They may be the "clear" choice but I think some voters are going to have reservations about giving Auburn their vote for the National Title knowing that they will just have to return it in a few years once the NCAA pulls their head out of their ***.

Now we are just waiting for the final chapter to be completed when Auburn is stripped of the title and Cam is forced to give the Heisman back. I look forward to the day that both the Chiz and Cam get what they deserve.

Auburn barely won most of their early games while TCU was blowing people out. Without a pro quarterback who carried the who team early on Auburn most definitely has a losing record 7 weeks into the season. They're a 4-5 loss team in my mind when I look at this team without a player they cheated to get.

They are a fraud. Not a national champion. TCU fits the bill though. I don't even understand how people can make comparisons like this.

So I guess 6 Cyclone fans in this poll think it's cool that ISU will never, ever be able to compete for a championship with the double standard regarding professional players. 6 ISU fans think Auburn deserves a National Championship for an act that would likely end ISU's entire football program.

Without an illegal player carrying the whole team Auburn loses 3-4 of their early close calls they barely pulled out and they're looking at a coaching change.

They'd be the clear choice if they had just beat the New England Patriots.

Auburn is the better team, but they will be stripped of their title eventually. This NC game was a joke.

The AP has already named Auburn #1, and they did it a couple of hours ago.

Auburn can have a player who says he didn't know his own family was paid and/or was asking for 180 or 200k.

How on Earth is that a jump in logic? Our guy never took a dime and the NCAA admitted as much. A teammate took a very small amount of money and he didn't even know it. You really think ISU can compete on this level when the NCAA comes down on us like Nazis and allows other teams like Auburn and OSU to run NFL expansion franchises?

If we did what OSU did, the hammer falls on us hard. If we do what Auburn did, it likely destroys our entire program. When the shoe is on the other foot it equals BCS victories and no punishments.

Not in basketball. We've had a team in the last 12 years that was good enough to win a national title and finished #3. Even had an NCAA investigation because of how good it was that turned up nothing.

Doesn't help Iowa State at all that no rules bend for us and they bend like crazy for other teams.
