Re: Coach Mac Cursed???
I watched just to see it happen again. It's just unbelievably predictable.
I do need some advice, though. I've been sending gifts weekly to the Creighton AD since he hired McDuphus. I've done Omaha Steaks (the obvious local choice), Mrs. Fields gift baskets, FTD Flowers, Pajamagrams, and Vermont Teddy Bears (with a Creighton uni on, of course). I have run out of ideas and I owe him at least three more years of weekly gifts to even come close to expressing my thanks.

Re: Coach Mac Cursed???
Hilarious post from their message board. I've only read the same post on our board 50 times in the previous four years (except for the Husker part).
creighton = WEAK, stupid team! I've given up on this year. No NIT, no postseason. Forget coaching. Forget the fabulous play of Doug McDermott, the infusion of Echenique. The upperclass leadership is TERRIBLE. The decision-making in the second half of games is HORRENDOUS, always failing to get the ball down low to the bigs. Too much dribbling, standing around, settling for bad shots. Today, more of the same. Stupid, stupid game. The last 5-10 minutes, Creighton looks like a very pedestrian low-major offensive team. And this just gets repeated over and over and over. I think I'm done, think I'll start watching some Husker hoops, as they at least look like a team on the rise with some quality senior leadership. CU next year. ARRRRRRGGG!

Re: Coach Mac Cursed???
This will hurt CU season ticket sales next year. The way Young bounced the ball off his foot was just unbelievable. It was as bad as falling our of bounds in the last ten seconds.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

He really can be a very good coach again. I just hope for his sake that one of these days that he learns that he's got his guys thinking more than playing.
Its so much like parenting. at some point you have trust that the practice has prepared them for "the real world" and then you have to quit being the helicopter dad every time things get tight. We know how that feels. How many times did one of our guys do stuff like this while Mac was yelling instructions late in the game. I don't think he's a BAD coach per se, other than the fact that he over coaches. Start with 20 plays and build from there in later seasons. He's only got 10 friggin seasons to work up to that 200 play playbook.

His knowledge seems good. He's an amazing PR guy, but he just doesn't manage players or games well, which is pretty much what being a coach is all about.
If this stuff only happened once in a while, you'd call it a fluke. If it happens consistently over a season (or number of seasons), you call it poor coaching.

Anthony bounced the ball off his foot as McD was yelling at him.

Also, what the hell was Doug McD doing letting that guy slip under the basket unguarded on the rebound. WOW I thought the same thing about the Missouri State coach, just unprofessional. The way Missouri State was acting, you would have thought they just won the MVC.

Notes: Time change throws off routines - Omaha.com
McDermott questioned the decision by Bradley officials to move the start of Tuesday's game from 7 p.m. to 3 p.m. because of the snowstorm that hit the Peoria area.
“We found out at 9 o'clock (Tuesday morning) that the game we thought was at 7 was now at 3,'' McDermott said. “There's bad weather all over the Midwest, and there was one game moved forward on game day. The communication to us was ridiculous.
“Game day is all about routine. We were not allowed to have a routine today, and I'm very disappointed in the way that it was handled.''

Re: Coach Mac Cursed???
GMac has been best at snookering AD's and making a lot of money he doesn't deserve. Just be thankful we're not on the hook anymore and be nice to Creighton. They saved our basketball program.
