Already linked by the McDermott factor, Creighton and Northern Iowa are now destined to become even more familiar with one another in the next week.
The teams will face each other in Saturday’s final game of the Missouri Valley regular season, then meet again six days later in their first game at the MVC tournament in St. Louis.
It is a double-double that Creighton has faced six times before but will be a first for coach Greg McDermott.
“This is new to me,’’ he said.
Regardless of Saturday’s outcome, Northern Iowa will be the No. 4 seed and Creighton No. 5 for the Valley tournament. The Panthers are 10-7 in league play, the Bluejays 9-8. They’ll play again on March 4 at 2:30 p.m. at the Scottrade Center
CFH HMagic bball season.
Let my fred's Four Horsemen ride.
That's awesome. I can feel the uncomfortable act from GMac building already. That always ****** me off a little...he never seemed like he wanted to beat UNI when he was at ISU. When ISU did beat them, he almost felt bad about it and when ISU lost, he seemed overly happy for them. I'm glad I don't have to worry about FH having mixed priorities.
