Newspaper ad to fire Arkansas basketball coach
For the second year in a row, Arkansas fans have purchased newspaper advertising space to request John Pelphery be fired. Similar things with Houston Nutt happened, although on a greater level. Crazy! Basketball Fan's Ad Calls for Change at UA - KFSM -

Hasn't Arky basketball been irrelevant since the mid 90's?

Re: Newspaper ad to fire Arkansas basketball coach
Nolan went off on a rant, said to give him his money and he'd leave, and Frank Broyles took him up on it. Then he sued them, think he lost. Mike Anderson is the hot hot hot name to replace Pelphery due to being a former assistant under Nolan. The fans were ticked when they didn't hire him when Nolan was let go, then again when Stan Heath was let go and Altman was fired, quit, and Pelphery took over.
So actually, we should be thanking Arkansas for being crappy enough to scare Altman back to Creighton, and if they can cause some Mike Anderson drama before the Big 12 tournament if we play Mizzou, they could benefit us again!

If they want to take Mike Anderson back, I'm not complaining. That man is solid.

Razorback fans for some reason turned on Nolan pretty quickly after he won a NC for them. Maybe the grass isn't always greener???

Re: Newspaper ad to fire Arkansas basketball coach
Mike Anderson is a very solid coach and I'd love to see him leave the conference...but would he leave Mizzou to go to that mess in Arkansas?

Maybe, Arkansas does have one of the best recruiting classes in the nation next year. Might not take long to turn the program around, and I am guessing the money would be pretty good.

Nolan had a daughter that was fighting a losing battle against cancer. I think he wasn't focused 100%. His recruiting was hotspots were drying up. They had some lean years that the natives weren't used to and when questioned, Nolan was very indignant.

Could have backfired, I guess, if McD saw it and countered with more losing; enough losing to be immovable.

Remember they won a NC in 93-94 and have played in the Final 4, six times in their history.
Also, are you familiar with Kentucky?
