What’s next for Panthers?
Northern Iowa played in the last two NCAA tournaments but its postseason plans this season are uncertain. Coach Ben Jacobson said he’s had some preliminary discussions with officials from the two low-level postseason tournaments, the College Basketball Invitational and the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.
“I don’t know that I’m fully ready to answer that,’’ Jacobson said when asked if he team would be willing to play in the CIT or the CBI. “We’ve got some time this week.’’
One Panther that wants to play again is senior guard Kwadzo Ahelegbe, who finished with 14 points and four assists.
“Just to have an opportunity to play with my brothers, man, would mean a whole bunch to me,’’ he said. “I have some great teammates. It’s so tough because to know there are a couple of things that you left on the floor that you can’t get back.
“That is the toughest thing. It hurts. Man, it hurts.’’
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
I would have to think this is how 95% of players feel if they know they aren't going to the NCAA or NIT Tournaments. They just want the chance to play a few more games with their teammates and compete.
That's why I think we need to accept a bid to whatever tournament that might extend an invite this season.

yea but dont you know its not about the players here... Its about a few fans ego, and there view of what ISU was 10 years ago....
UNI will not host a game in any post season tournament. They can not afford it. There best bet would be to have Iowa or us host them to help guarantee a large crowd. Yes I said iowa, that just goes to show how irrelevant these tournaments are.

HellsBells Cholly....I thought iowa was already in one of these irrelevant alphabet soup b ball tournaments....
