CBI and CIT teams
Looks like Oregon was the only BCS school to accept a CBI invite... CBI
Weber State at Oregon
St. Bonaventure at UCF
Austin Peay at Boise State
James Madison at Davidson
San Jose State at Creighton
Duquesne at Montana
Hofstra at Evansville
Miami, Ohio, at Rhode Island CIT Buffalo (18-13) @ Quinnipiac (22-9)
Ohio (18-15) @ Marshall (22-11) Furman (22-10) @ East Tennessee State (22-11)
Jacksonville (19-11) @ East Carolina (18-15)
Rider (23-10) @ Northern Iowa (19-13)
North Dakota (19-14) @ Air Force (15-15)
Northern Arizona (19-12) @ Santa Clara (19-14)
Portland (20-11) @ Hawaii (18-12)
Tennessee Tech (20-12) @ Western Michigan (20-12)
Iona (22-11) @ Valparaiso (23-11) Oral Roberts (19-15) @ SMU (17-14)
Idaho (18-13) @ San Francisco (17-14)
I guess basically any school with a winning record or close to .500 who wanted to play ball in the post-season had the opportunity

Re: CBI and CIT teams
Looks like we needed 17 or 18 wins to go anywhere. If we had beaten UNI and Cal, we might be rocking CBI.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: CBI and CIT teams
Looks like Creighton has already peaked under McDermott...

Re: CBI and CIT teams
North Dakota won their bid by winning the Great West Conference tourney.

You know many other BCS teams had to have turned down a CBI invite before they offered the schools they did...
-Maryland 19-14
-Virginia 16-15
-NC State 15-16
-Minnesota 17-14
-Stanford 15-16
-Miss St. 17-14
-Arkansas 18-13
-even So Miss in C-USA at 22-10 went on record to say they declined their invite

Why is it that people here don't realize that this is a crap tournament? Nobody wants to play in it, and I bet most of our players are just relieved the season is over.

Not all.

Re: CBI and CIT teams
With Jake Anderson hurt and Scott Christopherson wanting to get his elbow repaired asap, it would make no sense to go to a low level tournament. It would do nothing for our prep for next season, and would delay Scotty getting back. Fred wasn't interested and let it be known.

I guess it didn't occur to you that Oregon was the only "major" school playing in either of these tournaments. I guess it has everything to do with Oregon being the only "worthy" school to keep playing and nothing to do with no other school wants their name attached to these crap tournaments...
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -
Re: CBI and CIT teams
I'm not surprised with Oregon taking a bid to a junk tournament. They are shameless self-promoters, with the scratch to back up the behavior.

Look at the 2 teams who won those "crap" tourney's last year. Missouri State had a solid year and VCU is in the big dance as an at large team. I'm not too upset we didn't jump at one of these but the benefit of playing extra games can help programs get over the hump, especially a program like ours that needs to learn how to finish games. Nothing creates momentum or a buzz for a program like winning. Did anyone care who we beat in Novemeber and December? No but beating the directional no namers got a lot of positive buzz going around the program.
The only bigger turnoff than finding out a woman smokes, is finding out she's a Husker fan. -

Also, how did playing in the CBI work out for Oregon State? Are they on the next level?
VCU is a team that got 4th in the CAA and nobody thought should be in the dance. Missouri State couldn't even win a crappy MVC, how is that solid?
