Re: Duke and Wisc. both go down
I was in the New Orleans Arena last night for both games. Florida was, by far, the deepest, most athletic, and most talented team on the court.
Both BYU and Butler are deceptively solid...they don't look to be that good but they can play. BYU has Jimmer who demands double and triple teams as soon as he crosses the half court line but Butler was surprisingly more athletically gifted and deep than I realized...numbers 23 and 2 especially and obviously Mack (#1).
As for Wisconsin...with the exception of Taylor they are a tremendously slow and plodding team...hard to believe they made the Sweet 16. Again, the Big 10 shows that it is just not a top tier MBB conference when a team like Wisconsin is one of the top teams in the conference.
I fully expect to see Florida handle Butler tomorrow when I go...but if Florida decides not to pound it down low and take advantage of the size/athleticism advantage they have in the front court, Butler can win that game...not likely but it is possible.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

I agree, but the same could be said for the other 3 teams Butler has played so far. Florida is very undisciplined at the offensive end, they take quick ill-advised shots, that plays right in to Butlers hands. Butler is one of the most effecient teams in the tourney. If Butler is able to dictate the pace of the game Florida is in trouble, on the other hand if Florida can get out and run, or get hot from the outside Butler will be in trouble.

So what number one seed should have went out west then? Pitt? Kansas? Ohio St? Every single one of them would have been at a "geographic disadvantage" against Arizona.

They could never possibly compete with an athletic B12 team like K-State.

Reseed them, or place the matchups after the sweet 16 has been decided. I wouldn't have a problem with anyone going out west if they didn't screw everything up with the pod system the first 2(3) rounds. If regional placement isn't important in the final (most important) 3 rounds why is it in the first few? Who cares where these teams play the nobodys from the lower tier conferences, being close to home should matter more the further you get in the tourney.

Fans in neutral, non-regional sites probably aren't going to turn out for a 1/16 matchup. The regional matchups are what make the pod system feasible. It's easier to make money if one team's fans are already in town. Once you get to the Sweet Sixteen and beyond, you're going to get crowds no matter what, so regional locations aren't important.

It happers the integrity of the entire tourney process but since when does the NCAA care about integrity...

So much for winning TM, not a bad bracket though.

Yeah, it's still not too shabby, probably would dominate most of the small-time pools that I used to get in when I was in high school and such. Just a little disappointed that I wasn't able to pull it off. Now watch VCU go and knock off Kansas when the outcome of that game is no longer relevant for me “Hawks tell us we have no future, and we let you know what we think of Hawk fans, which is a lower opinion all the time.” – CycloneErik 7/25/2011

Re: Duke and Wisc. both go down
I had B10 going out in 2nd round... So Ohio State hurt me a little but not much. B10 was so overrated again this year.
