I think the refs, like everyone else at the point, just wanted the game to end as soon as possible.

Probably to make up for the 40 over-the-back no calls on Uconn. Just being a little taller/longer doesn't mean you get to climb over someones back who is in great box out position. Uconn should have had 20 fouls in the first half alone. And friggin Kellog wouldn't shut up about Uconn's 'lenth' - there's a 'g' in there buddy. And if Kemba drives to the basket again without faking getting fouled (acting like someone is pulling at him, always flailing) it will be the first time. Nobody gets fouled that much, glad the refs saw through that.

Love how hard Butler plays and how tough they are. Physically and mentally tough. Reminded me of our 2000 team. They are in the right place on defense so often it's incredible. Too bad they sucked at making shots. Many of them easy ones.

I thought it was funny watch ol calhoun b!tch every single possession about a call or something. That's all he does. I supposed I should want Freddy to do that considering cal's got 3 championships now. Hopefully Freddy can avoid sanctions though.

And that clip? Yeah probably should have been a foul, but that possession was FILLED with fouls from both sides, none of which were called. It was a frantic back and forth. And my 14 year old niece could push over Lamb. He looks 14 by the way.

I wouldn't say they are dirty, they were just a frustrated team. You see the same thing in an intramural basketball game. Should that clip have been a foul, of course. But if a team doing some pushing during a game makes them dirty than there were probably 68 dirty teams in the tournament this year.

Kellogg was right though. UConn's greatest advantage last night was its length over Butler. And, its ok to rebound while being boxed out as long as the contact remains "vertical". I'm not sure, but you might be overlooking that part of it. I remember seeing plenty of UConn rebounds where they tipped the ball out while being boxed out, and there was no foul called because they kept their all the contact vertical.

This is how good team's play defense. Duke does it, NC does, Kansas does it, Michigan State does it. It is called playing good defense. I would love it if everyone complained about Iowa State playing defense like this instead of giving up 80 a game night in and night out. Hopefully Freddy can bring this type of attitude to Ames.

More power to Butler, sit down and guard someone. Block somebody out. God forbid anyone play defense. I think how they play defense is a thing of beauty. We need to have the same attitude here, instead of crying about everyone else doing it.

With about a minute left and with Butler in foul mode. Kemba got an inbound pass and the Butler player tried to do a complete football form tackle. Not just foul the guy, the Butler player tried to take him to the ground. Kemba ran through it and accidently elbowed the guy in the face. That was a little bit of Karma.

Kind of in the same vain is the way K State's secondary molests receivers every play. I've never really liked it, but it seems to work out well for them since the officials won't call everything.

Or--and here's a crazy thought--we could actually play legal defense, instead of constantly bodying people with our hands up in the air so that it looks like we're not actually committing a foul.

I know, I know, it's a radical idea, but it just might work...

First paragraph: They were out of place a lot. Uconn was missing a lot of open shots as well. I think that Butler Defense is overrated.

Second Paragraph: Every coach does this. Brad Stevens was also ********.

THIS. Not only was UCONN constantly getting away with over the back "no calls" they also were playing hack-a-shaq with Howard everytime he went to the basket with "no calls". How many times on a clean block with no body contact does the guy shooting get wiped out and have to pick himself back up off of the court? Everytime Howard shot the ball he ended up on the ground with no fouls called. It was pretty ridiculous.
