    Here's what I've heard from the local ESPN radio channel, and the local news sports guy. The term of one of the head hanchos at the UNC board of trustees was up. He was a huge pro-Butch Davis guy and would not let the university fire him. The new members of the board of trustees apparently weren't so pro-Butch Davis and they decided to reevaluate the situation today in a closed meeting. In that meeting they decided that the university's image was the top priority and decided that canning the guy was the best for the university. As far as I've heard so far, nothing new had developed in the investigation of UNC's football program.

    As a current NC State grad student, the only thing that sadden's me about this situation is the end of NCSU's Tom O'Brien's perfect 4-0 record against Butch. Hopefully this fall brings a 5-0 record against UNC-CHeat.

    Actually, I take that back. I wouldn't wish this situation on any student athlete that did play by the rules the whole time, but has to miss "what could have been" of last season and this coming season, just because of some shady characters and rule breakers.
