WE LANDED ON THE MOON!!!
So what season will these changes take place? The Big East exit fee is $5 million, but they have to give 3 year notice.
The ACC seemed to cement its future together by not only adding members but increasing the exit penalty to $20 million. The Big East's exit fee is only $5 million, but schools wanting to leave are supposed to provide 27 months' notice.

Big East is not going to let Syracuse and Pitt leave until the 2014 season. That is in the bylaws and the Big East is holding them to that.
Why negoitate if you after nothing to win. Unless they up the exit fee by a huge amount, it doesn't make sense to negiotate.
Post-non-Pac-12-expansion:
Commissioner John Marinatto says schools committed to Big East - ESPN
"The source said that if Big East football is to stay together then the league will look to add at least two military academies, likely Navy and Air Force."
Apparently, the Big East has become the New Big 12 in all these shenanigans, the ACC has become the New Big East and the New Big XII is the former new Big XII, sans A&M (maybe).
UConn was the only school that didnt commit since they are still hoping to get into the acc. i dont see that happening since the b12 is staying together and the BE is enforcing its 27 month time frame for leaving
"A source with direct knowledge of the meeting told ESPN.com's Andy Katz that UConn didn't commit to remain in the league and is still actively pursuing membership in the ACC."
So is it safe to start a "Who does the Big XII want from the Big East" thread? As I'm sitting here not checking to see if one already exists.
