Blown calls happen all the time during a game.
The only way, is if there would have been no time on the clock.

The better question is, How in the Hell does the official under the post miss the call in the first place.? It isn't like it passes over the top of the goal post, it is clearly to the left (or right from the officials view). Horrible call, he should lose his job, but I am sure he will be on the field next week.

Re: No way for Syracuse to vacate win
The NCAA needs to fire these refs. It's obvious the fix is on as the line was 2.5. How do you miss that on a replay?
With that said, you can't go back and give Toledo the win despite the fact that they got hosed terribly

Re: No way for Syracuse to vacate win
Do we get the TD against Florida State? What does the officials being wrong at the end of the game have to do with that game going down in the history books as a W or L?

The TD and extra point, at that time, put Syracuse up by 3, and Toledo got a FG off to put it into OT. Huh? If the extra point had been called correctly, The Toledo FG would have won the game in regulation.

Problem is that this was reviewed and it's obvious. It's not something where you aren't sure if he got over the line. The kick was no good.

I'd be complaining like crazy if this were us on the losing end. But at the end of the day the guy messes up it's human error by an official. Every fanbase has a few games they can point to a big mistake by the officials and say you stole one from us. You give this win back and then you need to start reviewing the reviews after every game. Players/fans would need to leave saying "we probably won, but let's wait for the official review".

Re: No way for Syracuse to vacate win
Not sure what strategy would have changed in the last two minutes. It's not like Syracuse would have on-side-kicked or tried "harder" to stop Toledo on the game-tying (should have been game winning) field goal if that was correctly called no-good. Seems straight forward in this case, take the point off and Toledo wins. What a complete screw-job. NCAA football is completely corrupt.
