Re: SEC to push to end 2 team BCS limit
The only way I even see this as an issue is if they expand to another BCS game. Right now, assuming I'm correct, the first two out are Oregon and South Carolina.
The only time I can think where this might have happened was when OU, Texas and Tech split the south? I know they used BCS to figure out the Big 12 championship rep from the south, but does anyone remember what the other two were ranked in the BCS after that?

I think someone needs to out a muzzle on Slive. He has been eating too many Cheerios lately. He is thinking about a larger conference.

3. Get into Texas for recruiting

Slive is like a hunting dog. He is running amuck.
Re: SEC to push to end 2 team BCS limit
Here may be a way to curb the "mega" conferences...Have the BCS issue a statement that no more than 2 teams from a conference may go to a BCS bowl. It might not stop much but it could.
Re: SEC to push to end 2 team BCS limit
Maybe the SEC should just $ECede from the NCAA all together, expand to 24 teams, have a 14 game schedule with a six team playoff including two wildcard teams, pay their players (who don't have to go to any classes), and rename their conference to NCAA Appalachia. Leave the rest of us alone for heaven's sake.
(Not that the above would be a huge departure from what they are doing now)

EXACTLY. The best part about the BCS...is the ranking formula. The human polls and computer polls are both flawed but combining them works great.
Top 10 teams in the BCS rankings, there are your teams? 8 or 16 team tournament? there are your teams and seedings.
I'd prefer 50/50 human/computer split but I'll take the 2 to 1 we have now.
Re: SEC to push to end 2 team BCS limit
Why doesn't the SEC just take Ohio State and USC and start a new pro football league.
That's what it is. Everyone knows the National Champion was a professional team last year. I was at a wedding full of Auburn fans waxing poetic about the "dream season" and it was all I could do to bite my tongue that college football is easy if you field pros.
Re: SEC to push to end 2 team BCS limit
$EC = $EX = $LIVE
Things are starting to add up. This is a SEC power play to take over college football. Time to build our Maginot Line.

How about a 108 team college football league where QBs don't make $200k per year...
...and another 13 team league where QBs do make $200k per year.
We can call the two separate leagues "College Football" and "The SEC".

+1. I know in reality this would never fly, but I'd love to see the SEC leave the NCAA and make their own league. Let the rest of college football maintain at least some dignity and collegiality.
