Auburn is squeaky clean according to the NCAA

The NCAA doesn't have subpeona power so they are limited to what they could do in this investigation. Within their realm of investigative powers, they were unable to come up with anything concrete. And given the recent severe penalties to powers such as Ohio St and USC, calling the NCAA corrupt and other stuff is unwarranted.

They just don't like their conclusions due, in large part, to sour grapes. I feel vindicated.

Auburn's guys were just smart enough to not do business with a tattoo parlor operator who was under federal investigation. tOSU got essentially a slap on the wrist so far for that one, which unfortunately is much larger than buying a couple of guys to win the national title. USC, for payments to Bush's family, had their title vacated and Bush had to give back the Heismann. I think Auburn did have boosters who aided getting Newton to come there, but NCAA'll never prove it, and likely never link it to Chizik even if they found payments. Tressel left an email trail. Think Geno would ever do that?

Yea very true. We will never know how bad of shape our program would be in if Chizik was still here. Im sure we would have had a couple more 2-10 seasons. Can't think of a bigger turd than Gene Chizik and I will never understand why you get all wet in the pants over him.

This. The NCAA has shown, recently, that they are not afraid of punishing high profile programs and players. North Carolina, USC, Ohio State, Georgia, Tennessee, etc. Big schools who have had players and coaches severely punished for infractions. It's hard for me to believe that all of a sudden, Auburn gets a pass, when all of these other schools have been given no quarter. I think it simply boils down to a lack of evidence.

The NCAA knows the public will hang them for letting Auburn off. They know they will get the accusations of corruption. They're not stupid. If they had anything, and I mean anything solid to run with, they'd do it. The fact that they're not says all we really need to know.
