Iowa Card Stunt = Great Success

So as many people probably heard, Iowa was doing a card stunt in the stands that was going to be stars & stripes during the National Anthem, and then an ANF slogan and Go Hawks stuff during the rest of the pregame. I didn't think it was possible, but...

That looks awesome.

It looks even better from field level since the cards were made to hold right over your face. Thats why the far end of the field in these pics looks even better then the sides.

They showed aerial shots during the Big Ten telecast. They are also doing the black and gold stripe thing.

Unfortunately, I don't see enough fans in the stands at JTS from here on out for us to pull anything like that off.

Unfortunately, even when there are enough fans in the stands at JTS, I don't see enough fans that wouldn't complain about having to do something silly or wear a certain color shirt to where we could pull it off.

The Gold Rules Day in 2006 against Nebraska was out 1st and last successful gimmick.

And the only reason it worked was because the athletic department bought every student a t-shirt.

I wish we could do things like the alternating cardinal and gold, cards, gold outs, cardinal outs. Why do we have so many fans that complain about that stuff? Every ISU fan has a Cardinal shirt and almost every ISU fan has a gold shirt.

I just wish we could do something cool like that.
