Boise St Admission Standards
Does anyone know if they are actually a lot lower than most schools? I have had this discussion with a few people and I can't seem to find anything online about it. Everyone seems to say they have lower standards, but I can't seem to find any articles on the matter. Anyone have the facts on them?

BSU used to allow partial quailfiers, but as a member of the Mountain West Conference they aren't allowed to use partial qualifiers anymore. It's no different than what Nebraska (using partial qualifiers) was doing before the Big 8 merged into the Big 12 and Texas demanded that the Big 12 not allow partial qualifiers.
So all the people who don't think that BSU is legit allows make the excuse that its the partial quailfiers which is BS.

How many partial qualifiers are still on their roster from the previous years (3-4) of recruiting prior to joining the Mountain West? Will they be able to transition from a competitive team that relied on excellent athletes that were partial qualifiers (1990's Nebraska) to a team that is competitive without partial qualifiers (or turn into the Nebraska of 2000's)? This is a legitimate question that they should have to prove on the field. Hopefully, they will get their chance in the revamped Big East after we raid the teams we need.

Very comparable to Iowa and Iowa State. Basically if you have at least a 22 on your ACT or Above a 3.0 GPA you're admitted. But I know every schools athletic department has different pull with the admissions office.

Uh, do you want to include the year they joined the MWC. LOL. Do you guys actually read what you write? So for one year they haven't taken partial qualifiers? Their roster is still full of them just like the other poster said.
Wake up.

Wake up. I will guarantee you there isn't as many on the team as some of you believe. I will also guarantee that the best player on their team, Kellen Moore, isn't a partial qualifier.
So don't tell me to wake up.

I don't know about the admission standards, but I can tell you right now that a Boise State player hasn't paid for their own meal in years. That town takes care of the team.

Impressive indeed. :)

Boise State actually quit taking partial qualifiers in 2002, I believe. Here's an excerpt from a 2009 article: A few years back, Fresno State and Boise State allowed “Prop 48” students on their football team. These are players that cannot meet the NCAA minimum academic requirement, which is a very low standard by any means. Fresno State cleaned up their act in 2003, but the stigma still exists. The same goes for Boise State, who hasn’t had a “Prop 48” player in over seven years. SPORTS: BYU Football Weekly Roundup (Week 10)
