These seems to happen to someone at least once a year. I think someone like Syracuse lost its exhibition game 2 years in a row.

I'm pretty sure 'Cuse did that same thing WJ's senior year. Later that season, IIRC, they were in the Final 4.

And LE lost to drake very early on in the 99-00 year, and we all know what happened then. Early losses arent always a very good predictor of how the team will be over the season.

It's happened before. Regardless of what people think there are some very good DII teams out there.

I went to college at Winona State in Minnesota and in the mid 2000's WSU had a three year run of 2 basketball national championships and 1 national runner up (buzzer beater shot beat them). During that stretch I don't think they lost a single exhibition match to a D-1 team including embarrassing the Gophers on two different occasions. The same team scrimmaged a mid major team preseason (cant remember who) and apparently blew them out by 40.

It defenitely doesn't look good to the fans. But some don't understand that there are quite a few DII teams that could compete in the mid major conferences. It's not like these are kids that can barely shoot or dribble.

We should have lost to Morningside a few years ago. We had no business winning that game.
