Big East to Invite Boise State, Navy, Four Others

A person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press the Big East will invite Boise State, Navy and Air Force for football only and SMU, Houston and Central Florida for all sports in upcoming days. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the conference was not ready to announce its plan.

I guess this could help Navy if it happens.

I fail to see how MWC/CUSA championship game is not better in every single way for all the other teams. If they stay put the Big East AQ would soon move to the winner of that game. The winner of that game would have been a top 5 team for the past 6-7 years in a row...meaning boatloads better than the Big East or ACC AQ team much of the time.

I disagree with you. Schools like Houston, Central Florida etc would all be competitive in any conference. Necessity is the mother of invention, and what they invent might just change the landscape for college football. Lord knows it needs it.

I disagree it's crumbling, but it certainly is not that attractive anymore for ND to keep its non-FB sports there which could end up being real good for the B12.
