    Best College Football Traditions

    In contrast to the "Worst College Football Traditions" thread...

    -Victory songs. "Country Roads, Take Me Home" (West Virginia), "Hang on Sloopy" (Ohio State), "In Heaven There is no Beer" (sorry guys; it's the one Iowa tradition I envy), "Hey Baby" (LSU).

    -Live mascots. Love 'em. Ralphie, Bevo, Uga, Baylor's on-campus bear pit, Sooner Schooner, Masked Raider. Only on that sucks is Reveille (A&M's collie).

    -Florida State and the burning spear being thrown into the 50 yard line.

    -Wisconsin's 5th quarter

    Yup. The one tribe who realizes it's an honor and not a racist joke to be the official mascot for the school.

    Isn't Chief Osceola always an actual Seminole?

    IIRC, yes. I've never been to an FSU game but the moment he stakes the burning spear into the turf must just be nutz in the stadium.
