"Get a good night sleep. Go study" Good thing he said that: not inflaming the students.
This will be a HUGE work for the University: his name is everywhere on campus and I think his house is still in campus area. If JoePa wants to stick it on the BoR, he'll walk around campus anytime he wants.

Of course there were others to blame. Some more than others. Joe is just the center of attention right now because the others weren't icons.

Police have sprayed mace to try and disperse crowd and the students have successfully flipped over a news truck.

Re: JoePa Fired/What is happening at Penn State?!?!
This is the worst story in the history of college athletics... Its frankly disturbing, sad, and draining.
I feel sooooooooo sorry for those kids and their families, I feel bad for people who have associated themselves with PSU (other programs, academics etc) and had nothing to do with this.
I keep hoping to wake up and have this entire situation be all a horrible dream. I wish those kids were never hurt. I feel bad for every PSU fan who has to explain to his kid why Joe Pa was fired and what the entire situation was.
Its becoming hard to describe this situation with words.

This has gone beyond what is required of person by law. He may have done what was technically require of him by law but he is as culpable morally as the others in this. He and the others allowed a predator to continue to operate on campus. He could have stopped it along with many others up and down the line that is why he is gone.

You know my favorite philanthropic organization?
It's called the "CHILD RAPISTS ARE NOT WELCOME IN MY ORGANIZATION" Foundation. We don't have too many rules, but I can think of two off the top of my head.
1. Never bet on Miami to cover the spread after Thanksgiving.
2. If you have ANY knowledge of child rape, take it to the police. Don't be satisfied with notifying your athletic department and then wait nine years for someone else to do something about it while OTHER children are being raped.
I don't care how goddamn admirable your past philanthropic actions are: Follow through on rape allegations. How goddamn hard is that to understand?

Re: JoePa Fired/What is happening at Penn State?!?!
What happened was obviously wrong and awful, but the way Penn State has handled this whole situation is also terrible.
If I were on that football team I wouldn't suit up either.

That's a bad analogy to the scenario I am considering (which probably isn't the case, but still it should be considered).
