What does he owe ISU? His dad has been basically absentee for his entire life. His mom wasn't given a job just because of him. He played some pickup ball in our practice facility. Big friggin deal.

Your love of ISU is really clouding your perception on this. Ames is more than ISU.

Its easy to say what we'd do if we were in his shoes, but the fact of the matter is that we are not, and never will be.
I've heard of Michael Jordan and I think he is a giant ****** as well. What's your point. I would not want to go to UNC. He does seem to follow in his classless, greedy, sleasy, arogant idols' footsteps though and I guess thats something if that is what is important to you.

It has nothing to do with him not playing here, its how he said and what he did to say he wasn't playing here.

Really? It has nothing to do with him not playing here?

You're honestly going to try to make that claim?

Take a step back, and consider how ridiculous that statement sounds.

I guess if you are from Ames it is different.

It's about a bunch of ames residents being able to say they know Harrison Barnes and that wouldn't have been such a big deal if he went to ISU.

I agree with your post. Barnes did nothing for ISU and actually used the university. That can't even be argued.

I don't care if he ever scores another point. He is just another Iowa boy who thought he was better than everyone else. He's nothing like Hoiberg.

Go cry somewhere else. Your post makes no sense at all and makes you look like a twelve year old that didn't get picked to play in schoolyard football. If you had a choice between a National powerhouse with a guaranteed starting position or a lousy team with a ********* coach what would you pick?

HB didn't choose ISU. Some people ACTUALLY THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO. Those people got their feelings hurt and somehow still have their panties in a bunch today.

Re: Ames' Harrison Barnes #2 MBB player

People saying how he announced this was low class are ridiculous.

If I was the best player coming out of high school, I'm not going to play for my hometown team if they are the laughing stock of the Big 12 and only getting worse. Because my mom works for a university and my dad played for a university doesn't make me a better player or give me a more successful future.

On a side note, contrary to popular belief, he never kept his decision secret, he just chose wisely with who he told. I found out he was going to UNC a day before "The Announcement"

Your post is a perfect example. You are acting like you are five. How dare anyone question a high school kid that is being recruited by UNC. LOL Let me bow down now to the great Harrison Barnes.

I don't idolize players like you and many in this thread. That is why I don't care about Harrison Barnes. What has he done? Really? What? He plays basketball really well? Wow! I better never say anything bad about the great Harrison. LOL

I value hard work and humble people. Harrison appears to be anything but humble based on the little I have seen. He also doesn't share my sense of integrity because there is no way in hell I would be playing in ISU's facility the night before I made a big show of announcing to UNC. That would apply to any college, not just ISU. I understand why some of you don't get it. You live your lives through a spoiled 18 year old kid which means anything he does is okay or great. Too bad for you.

Excuse me, but I'll appreciate people like Fred Hoiberg.
