This appears to be just as messy as Penn State, in my opinion. The guy told police and they did nothing? Boeheim walked in on a boy laying on a grown man's bed and asked no questions? The police chief is a former basketball player?

Also, it just shows how mentally devastating a molestation can be, that a 27 year old man couldn't even stand up for himself after all those years.

I don't want to get way ahead of ourselves here (but watch, I'm going to)....for me the biggest moral out of all these events is that we need to quit acting as if we know these people's character. We don't know if they're "good guys" or not. We put these people on pedestals and act as if they're beyond reproach. We act shocked and appalled when one turns out to be not what we thought and then proceed to do an hour long special on how great one of them is (e.g. Coach K special on ESPN Monday night).

Now that Penn State has broken, other schools can let loose on their wrongdoings with the knowledge that what people will remember is what happened at Penn State and nothing else.

I don't think I look at anyone and think "yeah, that guy might molest children". Good guys or not, that is just not something I think ANYONE would do. But obviously, that's not the right approach.
