Re: Boycotting National Title?
If you want real change to the BCS we need to hit them where they will feel it which is their pocketbook. I suggest we start a grass roots caimpaing to boycott watching the NC. We the fans can speak with our viewership. #noncmoneygrab

Re: Boycotting National Title?
I don't like the repeat match-up, but I won't go as far as boycotting it. Alabama deserves to be there even-though no one wants to see it. As much as I wanted a fellow Big 12 member in that game, OKST had their shot and blew it. The SEC and BIG12 are the best conferences in football, so you really can't use the argument that one team plays in a better conference. OKST lost to ISU. ISU at the time got blown out in 4 games in a row (Texas, Baylor, Mizzou, TexAM) and not even ranked. Alabama on the other hand, lost to the #1 team in the country in over-time losing 9-6. If Alabama doesn't go, then they got screwed.

There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams -

I won't be watching Michigan vs Virginia Tech in the sugar bowl.
As for the NC, depends if I have something else going on that day. Not gonna plan around it. But if I am at home I will probably tune in.

Anyways, I'm liking the ISU/OSU replay idea. Since we beat #2, I guess that makes us the Nat'l Champs. CY-CL-ON-ES! Cyclones!

I understand why we have it, but I don't have to like it. Weird part is — I want LSU to roll to show that Oklahoma State (or even Oregon (another rematch!) of Stanford is worthy of a shot
But another part of me wants Alabama to win by 3 touchdowns.
If Alabama wins, it rubs the BCS in the face of BCS-supporters: (1) regular season doesn't matter; (2) who's the actual "champion"?
Add to it 'Bama's marginal SOS ... if it's going to be chaos, might as well go as far as possible on this one.

Re: Boycotting National Title?
With much of the talk about viewer reluctance to watch this game I wonder if there is money to be made by competing networks which might show different programming that caters to the same audience.
Though it would never happen, even a Division 2 championship game might appeal to some in spite of the BCS championship.

I absolutely refuse to watch another sec exhibition game between bama and the tiggers....
I will watch a replay of that thrilling victory over kstate at manhattan some years back..... -
Re: Boycotting National Title?
I'm not going to say I'm boycotting it, but I have pretty much no interest in watching. If I'm in the room and the TV is on, I'm not going to run away because I'm "boycotting" it. I'd rather play Skyrim or do something else rather than watch it.

I have less than zero interest in this game, so much non-interest in fact that I'm not even interested in wasting the time to boycott it.
Though instead of Skyrim, I will playing some multiplayer MW3 like crazy.

Re: Boycotting National Title?
I didn't watch the first one and probably won't watch this one unless Mrs. Velo happens to turn it on. People thought the first game was a snoozer but will realize that was the exciting one when the "Championship game" ends up being a 4-0 final.
The word "boycott" suggests I care which I don't. "There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr -

Re:Boycotting National Title?
Funny thing is most of you complaining will end up watching the game anyway. I dont like the rematch at all but if you're a college football you'll watch.

Re: Boycotting National Title?
still better > lame NFL. Of course I will be watching.

Re: Boycotting National Title?
I already boycott the SEC in general. I didn't watch the original SnoozeFest and I'm not going to watch the repeat. I've only watched a total of maybe 30 minutes of SEC football this year.
They're a good conference, I get it. I just don't care about any of their teams and I don't think they are that much significantly better than the Big 12 that they deserve the media hype they get. In the same way, I don't watch the B1G. They don't deserve the media hype they get and I figure one less TV set tuned in is a TV set in the right direction.
