Doug McDermott
According to sports center Doug is now the leading scorer in the nation. Great job Doug!

Re: Doug McDermott
He's hitting from everywhere right now.. so glad Iowa is the team that got to play them at Wells this year and not us... very impressive.

Re: Doug McDermott
Glad that our "buzzer beater" wasn't reviewed. Thanks Wells Fargo.

Re: Doug McDermott
Senior McDermott was never all-in.

Re: Doug McDermott
Seems like a really good kid..had to be tough for him, with all that was being said about his dad here. Glad he's doing so well.

Yeah, it must have been horrible having your daddy make a million dollars a year while also being a very good player and getting scholarships to play the game he loves...
btw, I like the kid, but lets not act like he had a tough childhood.

btw, I like the kid, but lets not act like he had a tough childhood. Theres a difference between a tough childhood and a tough situation. Was he on scholarship when his dad was getting ripped up and down the internet? No, he was a kid in high school.. high school is hard enough without that much attention on your family. And he got scholarships because he earned them.. my point was, as for what happened with his father, that had nothing to do with him and must have been tough..you can't choose your family and when that many people from your town are bashing your dad, its not going to be easy for a kid.
Anyways.. good for him. Will be interesting to see how far he can take his game

Re: Doug McDermott
I watched him in high school and his footwork/technique/instincts were just so far ahead of most high school kids I've seen. I knew he'd have a solid college career
-
Re: Doug McDermott
I would be really curious to see how he would do in a BCS league. He wouldn't score nearly as many points but I think he would still be a very good player. He would still get his points outside but would have a much tougher time scoring in the post.
But no doubt, he is having a great year so far.
It's just insane that 2 of the top players in college basketball came from the same high school...and I believe all 5 starters on that team are playing somewhere.

Re: Doug McDermott
I remember being at a couple basketball camps with him in high school. Now I'm just a message boarder... :((((((((((((((((((

Tough situation? Compared to who? Please, he probably had it better than 99% of children born on the planet. His dad (who seems like a good man and father, just not a good ISU BB coach) made millions of dollars coaching basketball and gave him some good genetic material, which combined with hard work is going to give him a great career playing a sport.

You guys need a better understanding of what "context" is.
