What was the rating for the OSU Iowa state game?

Good to hear; maybe no more retreads.
I think I heard the announcer say it was 44-days since LSU played their last game. That's longer than summer two-a-days before the first game.

Watching the news this morning, I see that Bama at least scored a touchdown. Yeah in the last 3 minutes from what I've read.

I think it may have more do with the fact that the game was on ESPN instead of ABC or any of the broadcast network. However I think there was a statistic out there that went something along the lines of people who were watching the championship on one of the major networks, +95% of them had cable or satellite.

Re: Lowest TV rating for national championship in BCS era
Question: What if the SEC as a whole was bad this year and LSU/Bama were not the best two teams in CFB? Everyone lauds Alabama's defense, but they have only played 1 team with a top 30 offense in YPG. What little I watched of last night's game (flipping channels frequently) looked like **** poor offense to me. LSU's offensive was the worst I've ever seen in a BCS game. The line could not block at all, the receivers were bad, the runningbacks never had any space, and the QB looked like the worst player on the field missing throws, dropping snaps, and shoveling the ball to the Bama players.
It isn't like the SEC has been total defensive domination all the time. Need we remember Colt McCoy utterly dominating Alabama before he was hit with a freak injury? Even then, Bama made Garrett Gilbert look like a Div. 1 QB - and that is saying something.
The SEC arrogance is baffling. Any argument that even comes close to questioning their dominance is ridiculed. Then you have some ESPN blowhard this morning saying Stanford was better than OSU because they "should" have won the game if their kicker could have made one kick. The guy doesn't mention that by the same argument OSU should be undefeated. Anything to stifle the notion or divert attention away from the SEC's inferiority to the Big 12 this year.

The SEC sucks, they think they are great just like the big 10.

Personally, I think they have dragged the bowl season out too long. I had almost forgotten that this game was being played.

I know a lot of people that didn't watch. I was one of them.

Re: Lowest TV rating for national championship in BCS era
I'm not surprised at a low rating, because how can you hype a rematch enough when the original game was hyped to the hilt? "Game of the Century," didn't they call it?
How can you top that?
It set up perfectly for failure (or at least the point of diminishing returns)

Re: Lowest TV rating for national championship in BCS era
It almost feels likes the inverse of that Boise/TCU game from a few years ago where they put the good non-BCS schools in the same game to keep them from knocking off a BCS school and having a claim to being screwed.
They kept a non-SEC school out of the title game to preserve the SEC's dominance.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.
