Brett McMurphy @McMurphyCBS College football sources told @CBSSports there's "strong support" to increase bowl eligibility to 7 wins in 2014
I hope so. Means less bowls I'd assume, and hopefully less bad teams. We just need to win more, and hopefully we are headed there.
Then they better decrease the number of bowls 25%.
With so many bowl slots, will there be enough eligible teams with a 12 game schedule?
Good, too many bowls.
This would be the perfect time for the Big XII to go to 12 teams and get that extra non conference game.
Tough call. With all the momentum I'd think 7 wins is a good possibility most years here. I also know that we wouldn't be to a bowl game yet under CPR with 7 needed wins, and I think 2 out of 3 years is pretty good imo.
This won't change the number of bowls.
This would be horrible for programs like ISU that are often on the edge for bowl contention as it is.
I dont see why there'd be such a push for this. You dont have to watch the game if you dont want to. The only teams that are going to benefit are the elites that will benefit from their opponents getting less exposure, and minor conference teams that got to more wins (but mightve gotten left out) because they played cake schedules.

In summary, that 9th conference game is very attractive to Fox and ESPN/ABC. They would rather broadcast a Big 12 match up as opposed to a KSU/Tulsa match up. Money talks, and 9 games are here to stay.
