Early Football Signing Period
I pretty sure that Coach Rhoads has indicated he would favor an early signing period for football, and many were upset when Iowa "stole" Barkley Hill so close to signing day, especially after he was committed so long to the good guys.
Not too far to the east in B1G country, many coaches are now peeved with Urban Meyer at tOSU swooping in and getting kids to switch commitments late in the recruiting process. Apparently he broke a "gentleman's agreement" between the coaches of the conference regarding such tactics.
If CPR wants it, then an early signing period would obviously be a good thing for ISU, but will it ever be introduced?

I doubt it. Big time programs/coaches wouldn't want to see a big recruit go to a middle tier program and get locked up.

Re: Early Football Signing Period
Kids should not "commit" early...but they do get coerced to do so. Tough situation...whatever the policy is it should keep the best interests of 17 and 18 year old kids in mind more so than any particular institution!
