Re: With a win Wednesday... are we in?
1 win- 70% in
2 win- 100% in
3 or more wins- they just hand us the title

Re: With a win Wednesday... are we in?
No matter what happens I'm very happy with the way this team improved from the beginning of the season. I would be severly disappointed if they don't make the tourney. My jaded ISU fan inside me says that if you took Texas, KU or just about any other team and give them the same season as ISU there would have been a few "top 25" appearances in the polls already. Even if they lose the last three its hard to imagine that they should be the ones without a chair when the music stops.

I think if we only get 1 more win there are going to be a lot of unhappy fanatics on here come selection Sunday.

Re: With a win Wednesday... are we in?
1 against tech, 1 in B12 tourney. Might be good. Steal one of @KSU/@MU/Baylor, and theres no way we aren't in

Re: With a win Wednesday... are we in?
Love the discussion that a team could win 10 conf. games and not make the tournament. 10 should put us in for sure and if not an investigation needs to happen.

Re: With a win Wednesday... are we in?
Honestly I don't see how we arent in ALREADY. I know the season isnt over, but we are tied for 3rd in the BIG 12. Although its a down year for the BIG 12, just about everyone (pundits) say we will get at a minimum 4 teams in, maximum 6 teams. Again, we are tied for 3rd.
The game at Mizzou will be rediculously tough, but still winnable. The TT game wednesday night is a WIN. We will battle KSTATE tough in Manhatten and I really think we WILL get Baylor in Ames. At worst thats 2-2 which would leave us at 11-7 in conference and more than likely 4th place at worst. 21-10 to finish, I know I wouldnt want to draw us in the tourney. We will be a tough out for anybody. Too many weapons IMO. We are Dancin! Knowledge is Power. Follow me on twitter @CrappinHawks -
Re: With a win Wednesday... are we in?
From the way our guys have come back with an attitude on the road I believe we can win the rest of our games. Not easy, but I believe we can compete to the very end at MU and KS and can put ourselves in a position to win. The take care of business at home first with TT and start off hot and game over. Then Fred pisses them off at how bad we looked in Waco and we get revenge against Baylor. I think it can happen, unlike the last what 10 years or so.................Now we'll see!

Re: With a win Wednesday... are we in?
beat Tech, then we can play to improve our seed. Hopefully we can stay out of the 7-10 range! 6 seed would be awesome

Re: With a win Wednesday... are we in?
Here were some that didn't make it last year, but check their RPI.
1. Colorado (21-13, 8-8, RPI: 66): Considering Clemson and UAB's lack of quality wins, it's astonishing that Colorado did not make this field. The Buffs' three wins over Kansas State and victories over Missouri and Texas should have been enough to merit an NCAA tournament berth despite mediocre computer numbers dragged down by too many games against teams with RPIs 300 and above.*
*
2. Virginia Tech (21-11, 9-7, RPI: 64): Someone better keep Virginia Tech coach Seth Greenberg away from tall buildings and sharp objects. For the fourth straight season, the Hokies gathered to watch the selection show hoping to make the NCAA tournament only to be banished to the dreaded NIT. A pair of wins over Florida State and a monumental upset of Duke were Virginia Tech's main selling points, but the committee likely couldn't look past the Hokies' inability to post a marquee nonleague win.
3. Alabama (21-11, 12-4, RPI: 79): Despite a 12-4 SEC record and a pair of victories over fellow bubble team Georgia in the past eight days, the selection committee apparently felt Alabama had not done enough to warrant a bid and the Bulldogs did. The reason had to be Alabama's poor RPI, which was weighed down by dreadful early season nonleague losses against St. Peter's, Providence and Iowa.
*
4. Saint Mary's (23-7, 11-3, RPI: 44): What probably cost the WCC co-champion Gaels a bid is a late-season slide that included a pair of losses to Gonzaga, a home loss to Utah State and an inexplicable loss to woeful San Diego. Beating St. John's to open the season and going 1 for 3 against the Zags was not enough to counteract that poor finish even though NCAA tournament-bound VCU had a similar résumé and late-season slide
ISU has an RPI of 40, SOS of 55.

Nope need 2 more wins most likely

Re: With a win Wednesday... are we in?
If we beat Tech this week, and lose the rest of our games, we'll have to get a win vs. K-State in the opening game in the Big12 Tourney. Just that one win and we might be sitting at home.
There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams -
Re: With a win Wednesday... are we in?
1 win (Tech)- 60%
2 wins (Tech and either KSU, MU, Baylor)-90%
3 wins or more(Tech, either KSU, MU, Baylor, and 1 win in Big 12 tournament)-100%
My prediction: We beat Tech, fall to KSU and MU, but beat Baylor (the magic will be alive March 3rd). We take 3rd in conference and win our first game in the Big 12 tournament. We get a 8-10 seed in the tournament. Keep riding the wave!
“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads
