This story is just ridiculous. Davonte Neal is a 4-star football recruit out of Scottsdale, AZ.

He had scheduled a press conference to announce his college decision this morning at his elementary school. They pulled all of the kids out of class for the "ceremony" which was supposed to start at 9:00 with the actual announcement at 9:30. Rumors had indicated that the family had narrowed the decision down to either Arizona or Notre Dame, but that the decision was made and ready to be announced.
Well, turns out Davonte and his dad never showed up for the announcement. It sounds like Davonte was ready to commit to the U of A but his dad made a last minute push for Notre Dame by refusing to sign any LOI that wasn't headed to South Bend. So after father and son don't show up, and the kids sit around for 50+ minutes everybody shrugs their shoulders and the kids go back to class.

Sounds to me like his Dad had a divine intervention and is convinced his son is the resurrection of touchdown Jesus.
That or his signature is worth some $$$ on that LOI. :yes:
