why is Pac-12 bball bad?

I continually hear how bad the PAC-12 is in basketball this year but I don't fully understand why.

Can anyone enlighten me?

I heard a stat regarding their non-conference performance, and it was atrocious, and shed a lot of light on the problem. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the exact stat.

With Arizona post-Olson, I think a Pac-12 without UCLA being UCLAwill probably be like this most years.

If their marquee program was rolling, at least some of their teams might have a marquee conference win. Look at our season, if Kansas sucked for a few years instead of almost always being Kansas, that robs ISU of our signature win.

In years where UCLA isn't elite I think the CUSA/MWC merger could stay stronger than the Pac-12 even losing SDSU and Memphis.

I saw that Utah was down 52-14 to Oregon at the half the other day... That's completely insane. How does a team get down THAT bad in one half?

The Pac 12 was 0-11 against top-25 ranked teams and was 1-31 in nonconference play against top-50 RPI teams.

I don't know what it is exactly that's making them so bad but that's why they are perceived as being terrible. (Which they are)

More than a handful of non-power-6 leagues have as good or better arguement for getting multiple bids.

Southern Miss is on the bubble with a ridiculously high RPI, it would be hard to rationalize keeping a team like that out for multiple Pac-12 at large bids.

That was the stat I was referring to. I had wondered about this too, but that is terrible, and makes the conference deserve very little respect.
