I love Larry as much as any other Cyclone fan, but as has been discussed many times on this board, Larry burned his bridges with the ISU administration so no one had his back when he needed them. It wasn't necessarily a BVD hatchet job. Larry did himself in.

Coaches are a lot more direct when they're facing the bubble. They have to be the team's best advocate. So I'm not sure when exactly you'd wish Freddie was that honest, as he hasn't been in a similar situation.

Very true...BVD did not dismiss Larry. Larry dismissed Larry.

Having said that, BVD was still an incompetent fool.

Aren't you the guy who wants to be a cop? And you think LE is honest & Fred isn't?

    *weeps for our society*

And BVDV wasn't an idiot for firing Larry. He was an idiot for knowing that the story was coming down the road at us full speed, and doing NOTHING to get out ahead of it PR-wise. He knew Witosky and the Register was going to run the story, but he did NOTHING to prepare the athletic department for the storm. If he'd been minimally competent, the whole thing would have been a 3 day story whether we fired Larry or not. But the way it was handled made us a national laughingstock for weeks.

Larry won't go to the college basketball wasteland that is, Nebraska basketball. IMO, I see Illinois going after him.

LOL! I am a huge Eustacy fan, but given is issues at the time and Wayne's questionable recruiting tactics, I'm pretty sure this combo would have landed us on probation in short order.

I love Larry. I don't know, to this day, if he should have been fired or not, but it would be interesting to see what he could have done. FWIW, I don't think we would have been in a better situation right now had Larry been here. That's speaking in terms of the future. The past would have been much better. What Hoiberg has done with no foundation is astounding and I think underated by the ISU masses. Eustachy did great things but he had a base here.
    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

    Or so I have read.

Larry will get in their faces screaming as a distraction so the refs don't see Frank sneaking up behind them with the piece of piano wire clutched in his hands.

After the game, the coaches have a gentleman's agreement that the loser has to bury the bodies in Larry's crawlspace.

(Not that Frank wouldn't be willing to bury them in his crawlspace.......but he's a little short on vacancies down there, ifyouknowwhatImeanandIthinkthatyoudo.)
