The big 12 is better in football because they, when matched up in semi-even placing matchups, do better than the big 10 when they are matched up in those same kind of matchups. But you're not interested in reading anything that refutes your big 10 bias, so you'll just put up straw men and yell hypocrisy. You cannot seriously compare the way bowl games are matched up to basketball seeding. Theyre completely different animals.

The big 10 and big 12 are fairly even this year in BB. Take out our boat anchor (tech) and we're better.

Remove your Big 12 bias and prove it using objective evidence instead of subjective opinion. Because all you have said so far is "the Big 12 is better."

Plenty of people have used objective evidence, but you dismiss it out of hand as 'hypocrisy!'

It has nothing to do with "Hawkeye love" as you claim and everything to do with actually being able to claim that the Big 10 can actually be better than the Big 12 at something.

All football season you said "who cares what conference is the most difficult" and "I would rather play in a weaker conference so that we make a bowl game.". Now your defending the B1G being an elite basketball conference. So which is it?

What evidence? The Big 10 hasn't beaten anyone in the NCAA Tournament? If that's the "so-called" evidence you should really take a second look at who the Big 12 has beaten in the tournament.

Seriously, Purdue is one of the Big 12's best wins and that almost didn't happen.
The Big 12 is 4-1 straight up against the Big 10 this year regular season MBB.

Just like the Big 12 in FB had a sizeable W/L record against the Big 10 going back the last 10-11 years in the conference---say 2000-2010.

In fact, the old Big 12 North in FB had a winning record over the Big 10

oh, and Kirk FreeRentz has been 6-10 against the Big 12 North schools
    from 1999-2011

That record is outstanding in every way

the 'lowly big 12 North' LOL

Considering the Big Ten plays most of it's bowls against the Big 12 and SEC (the two commonly pimped conferences on this website as the be-all-end-all) and the Big 12 plays nearly half of it's bowls against the Big Ten and Big East (the two worst conferences according to CF) and a couple against the underbelly of the Pac-12...i'm not digging the equality...

Just curious, if you're taking out the Big XII "anchor" why not take out the Big 10 "anchor"

Neither has beaten much of anyone. And the fact is its been the big 10 fans initiating the 'big 12 sucks because they lost' discussion. In fact, the big 10 fans claiming superiority all freaking season, despite only holding a narrow margin in RPI. The big 12 got teams eliminated sooner because they ran into the best teams sooner. The big 10 is meeting those level of teams one round later, thanks to seeding and facing the same result.

Its clear, at least in the tourney, who the best conference is, and its neither big 12 or big 10.

    Re: Big 10?

I am so sick of these terrible teams getting to the Sweet 16. ISU is better than 10 or 11 of these teams, maybe more. Syracuse gets to a regional final beating Ashville on a paid off ref, a KSU team without arguably it's best player, and then a disgrace of Wisconsin basketball team. The seedings are a joke, and I am sick of it.

No. The Big 12 is not better this year, and it's not debateable.

And no, the bowls are not even matchups this year. Not even close. The Big 12 did better in favorable matchups this year than the Big Ten did in unfavorable matchups. But you know what? I can admit that the B12 was the better football conference, by far, because of who they beat and how they did it.

So far, the Big Ten has beaten better teams in the tourney, has a better record in the tourney, and had the much stronger OOC performance. Yet you say that take away TTech and the B12 is better? Really?

Here are some stats for you. The Big Ten played 2 games in which they finished even in the standings with their opponent from another conference. They played 6 bowl games in which they finished lower.

The Big 12 played 6 games in which they finished HIGHER than their opponent from another conference, 1 game in which they finished the same, and one game in which they finished lower.

    Big Ten bowl games:

    Big #8 vs. SEC #7

Big Ten #5 vs. SEC #3

Big Ten #2 vs. SEC #2

Big Ten #3 vs. ACC #1

    Big Ten #6 vs. Big 12 #3

    Big Ten #8 vs. Big 12 #7

    Big Ten #1 vs. Pac 12 #1

Big Ten #3 vs. CUSA #1

Big Ten #7 vs. MAC #1

    Big Ten #10 vs. Pac 12 #3

    Big 12 Bowl games:

    Big 12 #7 vs. Big Ten #8

    Big 12 #3 vs. Big Ten #6

    Big 12 #1 vs. Pac 12 #2

    Big 12 #2 vs. SEC #4

    Big 12 #3 vs. Pac 12 #4

    Big 12 #5 vs. ACC #8

    Big 12 #6 vs. Pac 12 #6

    Big 12 #8 vs. Big East #4
