Davis was for sale, it was widely known in recruiting circles in Chicago at the time. The old man was upfront about it so it became pretty well known. DePaul leaked it to the sun times because they wouldn't pay or couldn't afford it, one or the other. His other sources didn't back him up when push came to shove because they didn't wan the NCAA snooping around their own programs. Regardless of how the story was handled, he was for sale.
If it were ISU, it would depend on the agree of dirtiness. I dont mind us bending the rules, or some of the more nonsensical ones. But if it got to the level of paying players cam newton style, i wouldnt be happy about it.
