Poor Weber State
When I saw the thread title, I immediately thought OSU wrestling coach. :wideeyed:
Haha I still remember when this happened...

Isn't there a Lousiville connection with him and Petrino?
Wait I thought Arkansas had already named Rhoads as the replacement? I saw it on HN so it had to be true :jimlad:
Petrino and Smith had worked together on 4 different staffs according to local sports talk down here.
Wow, look like the AD hasn't learned yet:
From his wikipedia:
After the 2002 season, Smith was hired as the head coach at Michigan State , which created controversy because Smith was hired before Louisville's bowl game that season, and he did not inform his Louisville players of the decision until halftime of the bowl game, which they lost to Marshall.
And only for 1 year. Looks like they resigned to not being able to attract good coach this season and use him as a stop-gap.
well, arkansas doesn't seem to mind disloyal and/or dishonorable coaches. Nutt, Petrino, now JLS??
How hard are the other teams in the SEC laughing at news of this hire?
